Please help me understand if computer is asking for windows password (where the computer boots up after windows log on screen?) or Is it after Dell logo (BIOS/Hard drive password).
Once you get a BIOS password screen, look for error that is displayed at the bottom half of the screen.
The comp asks for a password after the Dell logo screen appears. I don't remember seeing an error in that region but once I am near the comp again I will be sure to grab it and provide to you.
)I get that message when I pulled the battery or when using CTRL + ALT + DELETE to see what it would do.
)I powered down the comp and pulled all the cable connections off, however I did not hold the power button for any length of time before or after. Also when I placed the battery back in and plugged all the connections back the comp would turn on by itself.
)The battery has been installed the same position as I removed it.
)I plan on replacing the battery to isolate the issue. Thanks I will try this and let you know of my results.
Is the issue fixed? In case of a similar situation in future, you can always refer to the link http://dell.to/YegVvF Feel free to reach out to us on SDC for any help.

Rajesh R. The steps you provided helped me greatly. The comp is currently running per norm. Thanks to all for the help.
