if you have the problem with restarting the computer I think I have found the reason for it.If you are using AOL 6.0 software (and as in my case DSL) the computer stops restarting.So far I have not found a solution but at least the source of problem.
Hi.... same here. It seems there are a LOT of us who are having the same problem. Seems to me there must be a BIOS problem. My BIOS version is 6.04 or something.
I've tried to find something in Microsoft's Knowledge Base but there's nothing.
With this many people all having the same identitical problem, it seems to me Dell better take notice. It is a major hassle not being able to restart properly!
Many many people including myself are having the problem of not being able to reboot their computer without turning the power off and on again. There are postings scattered all over this forum speaking to the exact same problem.
I have set up a forum at a web site of mine for the sole purpose of helping get everyone with this problem together in one place so we can work it out, hopefully with Dell's help. Here's the web address:

Thanks for your suggestion about my restart problem, unfortunatly i am not using aol 6.0.
If you come up with any more suggestions as to whats wrong i would be grateful
