Creative SB X-Fi - Device cant start (code 10)

Hi all

Background
Following various blue/black/windows screen errors, a dell technician reinstalled a new hard drive and windows xp.   After hed gone I realised I couldnt get any sound and "no audio device" listed in the Control Panel-Sounds/Audio device .
Under device Manager - there was no mention of my X-Fi card.

Eventually.. I got the X-Fi listed in Control Panel and device manager and I had sound....hooray
Then I ran the Sound blaster CD to install Soundblaster and Creative media.
All seemed to install ok
Restart the computer and I have no sound.....grrrrrrrr

Currently
In Control Panel - Sounds/Audio Device it says No audio device (again!)
In Control Panel - Sounds/Audio Device -  Hardware the creative SB X-Fi is listed.... but says "Device cant start" (code 10)

In Device Manager  - creative SB xFi is listed with a yellow exclamation mark

Any help/ideas (in simple terms for a computer beginner) greatly appreciated on what I do next

My system
Dimension 9200
Core2Duo 6600
2GB ram
nvidia GeForce 7900GS
320GB H/D
2 x 24in screen
Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme....(hopefully!)
Windows XP media center

Many Thanks

UPDATE

I have sound

I tried the X-Fi install CD again and only installed the Soundblaster section, not the media part and
so far its working. Think Ill leave it at that for now.

Only one more exclamation mark in the device manager to fix  - multimedia video controller ?, so Id better go search the "video" board.

Cheers
