.DLL files
Since virus problems and formatting computer, starting all over again, have had several .DLL file problems. Narrowed it down to one after downloading new version of Internet Explorer. Then after a virus update another one disappeared. Now trying to play newly loaded game and get "Error starting program. A required .DLL file, DINPUT8.DLL, was not found." Is there any way to download and reinstall all types of .DLL files? Computer came loaded but after format was unable to get it back exactly as when purchased. Do not have disk with any .DLL files on it. Thanks for any help I can get.

Dinput8.dll is a part of ActiveX. If you are missing that, you may also be missing other ActiveX files. To check go to Start|Run, type dxdiag and click OK. The DirectX diagnostic utility will advise if any other files are missing. Since that one is missing, however, you would be best off downloading DirectX again (from here).
If you are running Windows 98, you can also check for missing .dll files by going to Start|Run, typing SFC and clicking OK. System File Checker will examine your system and replace any system files which are missing or corrupted.
