Data Migration via NIC's

Hello All,

I just got my new Dell and want to move all my data files over from my old Dell. Both have NIC's (not currently being used). Old system is running Win95 with the New running Win98-2ed. Can I just connect them via somekind of cable and the use the Network Neighborhold? Trying to floppy all my old files over (SneakerNet) seems like a waste of time... Thanks...

You should be looking in the Dimension - Networking conference. Connect them with a "Crossover" cable. You will need to set up all the Network "plumbing" required for a LAN (Local Area Network). After you install the Drivers for the NICs, install Client For Microsoft Networking, MS File & Printer Sharing and the NetBEUI protocol. A book I bought last year is "Networking Home PCs for Dummies.
