Deleting Downloaded Files

Hello,

          Please can someone help. I have downloaded some files I would like to delete on my computer. However when I go to the tool bar where is says files and download and select the file I want to delete it just shows a loading sign with a blue circle and will not let me delete the file. It this because they are really big files? Is there another place on the computer where I can delete them from? Thankyou
