Hi:

Can a after market sound card be added to a Dell  I3847?

Thanks for any updated info.

Hi Snowme,

Yes, any aftermarket card for which a slot is available and supported by your OS should work. Please let me know if you have a specific card in mind.

I gave a Audigy2 but the Board looks like it only has 2 extra  PCi 1 slots I guess I would need some sort of PCI-1 adapter to do  install this SCard.

I already installed a newer VCard. in the PCI-E slot.

To bad a online manual with MB blowup  layout is not available anywhere I have looked.

Thanks

You cant use an audigy 2 card.  Recommended card would be dell soundblaster Recon PCI-E card.

That adapter likely does not work.   PCI-E X1 slots that are version 3.0 do not clock down to PCI-E 1.0 speed so the older PCI 32 bit 33mhz cards won't even be seen. The Audigy PCI card is over 10 years old.
