Hi The_Namek, Thanks,,,, for the reply,Acutally I posted there first,,,,,,It didnt seem i was going to get any replies so I,, thought I would give It a try here.,,,,, I see by the spec's you listed , you run a nice 800 Mhz system,,,,,here in the Ghz ,,,,,,,,,Diazzzzzze",,,,,,,,,,,,,LOL,,,,,,,my 866 Mhz machine , runs fine for what a I do really.
rustymt,
I'm in agreement with Troy about the 133 MHz PIIIs vs the Tualatin Celerons. As for my Athlon Thunderbird, I could probably overclock it to 1 GHz or possibly a little further with a better cooling solution than I currently have. It works fine for me at the default clock speed though so I figure why bother. How many home PC users really
need a CPU faster than 1 gig, let alone the 2+ gig CPUs currently on the market? Of course I'm going to break that barrier when I build my next machine (kind of have to since it's not the easiest thing in the world to find older processors), but that one's going to be my mega-multimedia PC.
Hi The_Namek and Troy, Thank you both for your replies. Yes I agree with you both on going with the P 3, 1.2gig 133 Mhz bus, over the Tulation Celeron 1.4gig in any Powerleap upgrade. Mater of fact I am running on a P 3 1gig,133 bus right now, a friend is letting me try it.I just slipped it in this morning, It runs fine,Its only a 134Mhz,,gain ,,,,But "HEY",that was the mean" CPU speed of my old Pack bell,,,,,,,,,,lol
And Yes,,,I will probably move up in a year or to also. I was sorta thinking of building like you.The friend thats letting me try the 1gig P 3 has built several machines, and would help me if I had any problems. And I would leran more by building. But then with a factory machine, you get tested componet compatibility , warranty and support. I am really pleased with this machine,,,,,Gezzzzzzzzz I have abused it terrible,,,in my process of learning ,,,,,,lol ,,,,lock-ups,,Power off"s,,, screwy software, several windows reinstallations, and etc( mostly my fault) of .And after I got my boo boo's fixed up it always runs fine. All i have ever had was few minnors errors easily repaired by disk scan.

Rusty
You would be better off sticking with the 133 FSB PIIIs rather than the Tualatin Celeron CPUs. Believe Powerleap may have an option coming up for you.
