Dell 8900 USB Issue

Running Windows 10 (Dell installed) on my Dell 8900. I have two Seagate external HDDs (Backup Plus 3 TB and 5TB) connected to two USB 3.0 ports. Windows Device Manager shows both of these devices as SCSI disk devices. How do I get them to show as USB devices? Thanks.

Try this:

  1. Navigate to c:\windows\inf
  2. Right click usbstor.inf and select "cut"
  3. Then go to your desktop and right click and "paste"
  4. Now plug in your USB device, it should now show up normally
  5. Then, reverse the "cut" and "paste", putting the file from your desktop back into c:\windows\inf

See if that fixes it...
