Dell Diagnostics Partition now visible- How to hide?
A power glich caused a shut down. When restarting a strange program started, I now assume one of the diagnostics. Not thinking I shut down the computer with the off switch. Restarting the second time Windows XP came up as it should but I now have the Dell Diagnostic Partition visible as drive E:. How do I now rehide it without losing the ability to use it if necessary? I can say thay I have never had to use it to date.

As far as I know that currently, there is no fix to rehide the partition.

Here is a workaround, go here and download and install Tweak UI, run TUI and look for My Computer on the left side then click on drives and uncheck the drive letter you want to hide. You can still do a start, run E: to see the partition if you must.

Every once in a while M$ does something great.
I also use this tool that M$ removed fron their site, and I don't agree with the reason.

Thanks for the information folks. In the end my web search found this web site: www.goodells.net/dellutility/index.htm which has a lsrge amount of information about the Dell partitions. In searching the site I found a download of a zip file which when following his instructions cured the problem. The file I used was dsrfix.zip. After extracing the files, making a boot disk set and using two of the enclosed file everything is back to normal.
Again Thank You All
