Dell Dimension 3000 - Upgraded (6200 PCI) Video Card - Media Player won't work
I just upgraded my Dimension 3000 - 2.8 Ghz - 512 MB (333mhz) - Dell E153FPT monitor by adding a 3D Fuzion 6200 128MB PCI card. I bought it specifically to run Sega's Outrun 2006 (which it does beautifully!!)
However, both Windows Media Player v10 and WinAmp will no longer load and play video files unless I slow down the hardware acceleration using 'Display Properties', 'Settings' tab, 'Advanced' button, 'Troubleshoot' tab. The highest setting I can use is the 3rd position from the left which reads "Disable all Direct Draw and Direct 3D Accelerations.....Use this setting to correct severe problems with DirectX accelerated applications". Using this setting will not allow Outrun 2006 to run because it can't create the 3d settings it needs.
Higher settings allow OutRun 2006 to load and run but Media Player or WinAmp appear to hang while trying to load a video file and the CPU Usage jumps to 100%. Setting the Hardware Acceleration to the 3rd position and clicking "Apply" provides immediate results and the video begins playing normally.
Running DirectX diagnostics didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. With the hardware accelerated so the game will run, attempting to load a video and the CPU running flat out, DirectX diagnostics couldn't use DirectDraw or Direct 3D to run its tests. Otherwise the diagnostics found "No Problems".
Whew! After all that, the question is...
Is there anyway to adjust the settings (ANY of them) so both the game and the media players work correctly, or should I just enjoy the fact that my game works and be content with setting the hardware accelator up and down as necessary?
I'm sorry about the length of this, but let me say THANKS in advance for any and all responses and help.

Uninstall the driver for that card use driver cleaner.net the pro one.
Then download this one Driver 84.21. When you install make sure you disable any anti virus software and firwall when downloading and install. Try that.

I'll give that a try! Thank you very much! My computer is a 3000 which started out with the integrated graphics. I have 2.8 Ghz processor and 512 MB RAM. No matter how this goes, I'm really enjoying the additional speed the new graphics card provides by not using system memory to draw/redraw screens.
I contacted 3D Fuzion and they suggested that I update my BIOS and chipset drivers, which I did, and then I reinstalled the newest NVidia driver (v91.47). But, there was no change.
I'll definitely take your advice and use drivercleaner.net and NVidia's v84.21 drivers. Thanks again!

Electromagnetic...YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!
I couldn't tell you whether it was DriverCleaner Pro or using the 84.21 NVidia Driver, but the card will now come out of the high intensity graphics of OutRun 2006 and immediately play a video using the Windows MediaPlayer.
Thank you very much for your advice!
