Dell Dimension 3000 question needing answer.
My 83 year old mother passed away last December, and I am finally wanting to use her old 2002 Dell Dimension 3000 that has windows xp on it. I just bought a new printer, that will on function with either windows 8 or windows 10. Since I do not have a touch screen windows 10 is my only option. I know windows 10 needs plenty of memory. Currently here is what I have below:
512MB of RAM memory and a 80GB HD.
I am not planning on using this Desktop much except for using it for my printer.
Will the maximum 2GB memory capacity of my 2002 Dell Dimension 3000, be enough memory to install Windows 10 with all of it's bells and whistles that come on it?

Neither 8 nor 10 will run at all nor will it install. Windows 7 is maximum for 2 gig pentium4 systems. Hardware D.E.P., NX, XD & EVP are required for 8 and 10. The UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR bug check has a value of Stop Error "0x0000005D" or "0x000000C4". This indicates that the computer is attempting to run Windows on an unsupported processor.
To resolve this error,you must have a processor and bios with NX (“No eXecute bit”), or the equivalent XD (“eXecute Disabled”), feature within the BIOS settings. This feature is typically found in the Advanced or Security tabs within the BIOS settings, and can be referred to by a variety of names, including but not limited to:
· No Execute Memory Protect
· Execute Disabled Memory Protection
· EDB (Execute Disabled Bit)
· EVP (Enhanced Virus Protection)
Processors Before 2005 typically DO NOT SUPPORT PAE, NX or LAHF/SAHF or CMP XCHG 128. Pentium D 800 series support 32 bit and Pentium D 900 series aka 915 to 960 support 64 bit windows 8 or 10.

It depends on your patience and sense of humor. If 10 runs at all, it will be glacially slow. The entire system is worth about 1/5 of what a single license for Windows 10 will cost -- you'd be better off buying a used system with 10 included -- that's less than five years old. It won't cost any more than a single license for the old Dimension 3000 would cost -- and will perform much more acceptably.
