Dell Gaming and Monitor Issues

Hi,

I purchased a new computer and monitor from Alienware and Dell for gaming last week, but I'm already having some issues. Here are my specs:

Alienware Aurora R6

Windows 10 Pro

Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz (4-Cores, 8MB Cache, Turbo Boost 2.0, up to 4.2GHz)

Video Card: NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 1070 with 8GB GDDR5

850W PSU Air Cooled Chasis

512GB M.2 PCIe SSD

RAM: 32.0 GB (2x16GB) 2400MHz DDR4

System: 64-bit operating system, x64 based processor

Monitor: Dell 24 Gaming Monitor - S2417DG

I know very little about computers but everyone tells me I should be able to run games on ultra no problem. I can barely run it on the recommended/normal setting and still barely get 7 FPS at times (usually around 60 though).

Also, I have an issue with the monitor as sometimes the monitor will randomly go into power saving mode without warning.

Please help. Thank you!
