Dell Inspiron 660 Graphics Card Upgrade

I have had my Dell Inspiron 660 for a bit over a year, and am now looking to upgrade the graphics card. It is pretty close to this one, but mine runs on Windows 7:

I believe it has a 300 watt psu, 8GB of ram, the Intel HD integrated graphics, and is the full desktop tower (not the mini one). I am tired of playing games on low settings, and would like a card that can handle medium-high settings on games. I could upgrade the power supply if needed, but would like to keep the whole budget under $200. I have heard the AMD Radeon 7750 can run with a 300 watt psu, but I do not want to risk harming the computer. Would either of these cards be suitable for my current setup:

or

Or should I upgrade to a higher psu (like the one below), and then what cards would be good under $150?

You cannot use the GTX 650 because it requires a 6-pin power cable which the 300 watt PSU does not have.  The only one that will work is the HD 7750 as it does not require any additional power hook up. Your best bet for gaming would be to upgrade your power supply.  With the PSU upgrade, I would look at getting the R7 260X HERE.  It's the best you can do for under $150.

There is not going to be any noise difference between the 500W and 600W PSU.  They are both Corsair brands and the same CX model line.  The R7 260X I linked is probably pretty quiet due to the larger fan. The smaller the fan the more noise it tends to make since it has to spin faster.  The XFX card you linked being a single slot card with a smaller fan would probably be noisy.  No card is silent unless it only uses a heatsink for cooling and no fan.  Only low-end cards will offer heatsink only cooling.  As you play games, the fan will speed up automatically to keep the card from overheating, but the noise level should not be a concern. Again, the R7 260X offers the best performance for under $150 right now.  A video card under $150 is not for ultra settings anyway.

Sloskizel

Go with the MSI, I've been having issues with Asus graphic cards and their factory warranty service.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry for all my questions, I am very new to this. Is there any difference between a 500 and 600 watt PSU, besides what it can handle? Is there any noise difference? If not, then I think this would probably work well (as it is on sale for only $58). I am not a big gamer, don't need ultra settings, but would like near high. Is that R7 260X pretty quiet, or what would be another card to look at that runs fairly silent around $150?

Would this card work well too? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121801 I read the reviews on it and understand the drivers aren't the best right now, but it seems like the quietest and coolest R7 260X card that you recommended. There also seems to be some quick fixes that allow it to work when disabling OC, so I was just wondering if that card would be a good idea too. Thanks for your many replies.

Really having trouble choosing between the two cards, the ASUS or the MSI. They seem to be nearly the same besides either one fan or two fans, but the reviews on newegg and other places all say both cards are very quiet. I measured and it seems like both should fit. Any final suggestion on which one I should order, if it were you?

The Asus is a good choice also even though the reviews are all over the place which happens with just about every video card.  Factory overclocked cards usually run stable and having to down clock the card would not make me very happy.  It's hard to say what your experience will be.  Some people never have problems and others always do.  AMD drivers sometimes do not install correctly the first time.  A lot of times I have the install them a 2nd time to get things working.  I have had many video cards including overclocked ones and never had a problem with any of them.  Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones.

Awesome thanks! FINAL question, is the modular version of the corsair power supply worth it (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139050) or just get the normal (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027)? Will both fit fine in my case?

The modular is less with the promo code if used by today and the rebate on top of that makes it even a better deal so I would probably go with that one.  Less cable clutter always helps.  Both should fit fine.   I agree on choosing the MSI card.
