Dell Movie Studio Plus
I purchased Dell Movie Studio Plus($130.00) with my new Dell, but I don't find the software on my computer. Nor do I see back - up disks for Dell Movie Studio Plus. What should I be looking for?
Thank You - tkrats

The Dell Movie Studio Plus is a bundled "package" which includes the installed hardware and the software listed below:
- Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.3.2
- Power DVD 4.0
- Sonic MyDVD
- emuzed Dell movie studio
- Roxio Videowave Movie Creator
So you have everything. There isn't a seperate CD called Dell Movie Studio Plus.

I have had problems with Dell Movie Studio Plus from day one. Numerous emails and telephone calls have not resolved the problems. One Dell service Tech said I must reinstall the Dell Movie Studio Plus software. However when I try to rereinstall I get a message to "Install Video Wave Media Program CD". Dell did not provide this CD with the system. I have tried all the CDs that came with the system to no avail. Dell Tech Support then said I have a bad CD and sent a new one called Drivers and Utilities already installed. This CD does not contain the necessary files. Dell sent another one which does not contain the files either.
Roxio says I have to talk with Dell about the problem. Where can I find someone at Dell knowledgeable of the problem and offer a solution to the reinstallation problem? So far I have corresponded with several different service Techs none of whom have been able to solve the problem.
Can someone at Dell try to reinstall the software on a 8250 computer and then tell me how to do it?

I also have a 4550 with Dell Movie studio plus trying to use Analog capture. One day it works the next day it doesn't . Lately I cannot get the video and audio to sync. It is USELESS. I wish someone at Dell would tell me: ""please purchase another video software program to use with the emuzed card and BOB"". I think this would work, but I would like someone to confirm this for me from DELL. THEY owe it to all of us who bought the $200 package. I'll be glad to spend more if it works.

The movie studio package is terrible. The roxio software can't keep the video and audio in sync. The breakout box drops too many frames (while trying to do an analog capture).
I ended up buying Pinnicale Studio 8 and I use a digital camcorder to convert my old analog tapes to digital. The results are spectacular.
If I would have realized how bad the dell package was I would have returned it. However, I didn't realize till after the 30 day return policy.
Good luck

It shouldn't drop any frames. I find it drops frames whenever the action is too fast, or too bright. Dell's answer was, "this isn't a profesional quality device". They should put that in there Movie Studio promos.
If you want to get a better quality capture you need to spend some $ on a better breakout box (Canapus is supposed to make a very good one. I use a digital camcorder with AV pass thru capabilities to capture the video. No dropped frames.)
Good luck.

I am getting exactly the same thing on a Dell Dimension 4550.
No information on the Dell or Roxio sites about this. Just starting to look here. What is the situation here, Dell??

Don't know what this software is that it's looking for, so cannot install the product. Is there a solution, or does it all go back to Dell?

Hi there, I know the answer (I think) because I just got through it myself this week on a new Dimension 4600 with the Dell Movie Studio Plus and emuzed analog/digital video capture card.
Turns out that the "Media" CD being asked for is the 'CONTENT' CD, orange and black colors on it if same as mine here. The main Roxio VideoWave CD is labeled as 'PROGRAM' and also says "install this CD".
What I had done, which caused me to think there was a problem if I remember right how I went about it, was to click on the desktop icon for the Movie Studio. It must've asked for the other CD but I thought it needed a reinstall. So I found the program CD, noticed it said "install this CD first" taking that to mean it needed installing before it would work, then it asked for that VideoWave Media CD. No such thing, by name, but made sense it must be the content one. Well, it wasn't recognized, so I figured it must be a differnt one.... a possible 3rd CD missing perhaps. No. After another attempt it found the files it needed to continue the installation on that 2nd CD.
My guess is that the same is happening to you. I don't know if there's a difficulty with the CD being seen easily or whatever. But it is the one you should use.
I'll private message this too, since you have replied to a very old thread here.

THANK YOU. Yes - that was it. Very unintuitive, as that CD will not mount on its own without being called by the first CD.
I got a totally useless response from Dell's support people, by the way. They sent me a link to reinstall Dell Picture Studio again from the applications CD....
DELL - PERHAPS YOU SHOULD MODIFY THE PRODUCT/LABELS SO IT IS CORRECT?
Thanks again.
