Dell Optical Mouse - Red Light on Receiver

Question

I just bought a Precision Workstation 370 with a Dell optical mouse & keyboard. Everything was fine until a couple of days ago when a red light appeared on the receiver under the mouse icon. Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried to comb this forum and the Dell site in general and can't find any reference to it.   Any help would be greatly appreciated! nessnzoe

I experienced a similar issue; is a warning to indicate a low battery level. I discovered this the hard way when after of days the mouse stopped working and bam the battery was dead.

Chipstone:   Yes, I had the same experience. The red mouse changed to dead mouse. But now I'm armed with a twelve pack of batteries. :-)   I did hear from Dell when I put through a support ticket that the batteries last from 1.5 to 3 months.   Thanks for taking the time to reply! nessnzoe
