Dell Photo 926 Printer with Mac.

Can anyone help me with the below problem.

I have a Dell Photo 926 all in one printer.Whilst it is old in terms of years (about 7) it is new in terms of use and is a fully functioning printer.

I am trying to install it to my Mac 08X version 10.6.8 and basically cant.

When I rand dell initially they said it WAS compatible but when I rang again I was then told it wasn't and no drivers are available. 

Having had it serviced as a result of Dells first information saying it was compatible i am not amused.

Does anyone know a way around this problem please.
