Dell Precision 490 CPU upgrade help
Hello everybody!
Anyone can help me with this question?
I recently bought an used workstation Precision 490.
Motherboard model is 0F9382 rev. A00
The installed CPU is one Xeon 5160
Since I haven't found any information about this motherboard model on internet, anyone know if it support dual Intel Xeon X5355 (Quad core, 8 MB, 2.66 GHz)?
Thank you in advance for your kind help
Regards
Ivan

If the board can handle 120W without issue then Bios may need changing. 5300 series is listed as working. Bios update to the A00 or A01 version is advised BEFORE changing cpu.

The Clovertown is 120W
Most of the other parameters are similar.

The INTEL 5000x chipset is why.
