Dell U2913WM Monitor - Unresponsive/black screen issues
I've been having trouble with my U2913WM for some time and it doesn't seem like anything I do can fix it. I think it's prudent to state that I'm quite good with computers, majored in computer science. I want to allay anyone's doubt in my skills right off the bat.
With that out of the way, I will now describe the problem. Essentially, the screen will occasionally turn black with the back-light still on. During this time, none of the buttons one the monitor are operational. I am forced to unplug the monitor's power cord and then re-plug the power back in. Other times, the monitor will function normally but the buttons will have a very slow response, talking 4 - 8 seconds.
I have the dell display manager installed and most of the time, the icon is red, stating that if cannot find any dell monitor connected. Of course, this is cause for concern. To add to the concern, on one occasion, the monitor started clicking when the screen did it's usual stuck in black. I haven't had that issue since I switched out of game mode in the monitors profile settings.
I purchase this monitor closed to the end of 2013 so it's a little more than 1 year old. These problems started about a month in and it appear more and more to me that it might be failing. Any help with this issue is appreciated!

In the US, If it is an UltraSharp monitor it probably has the 3 Year Advanced Exchange warranty. What that means is you can call Dell, state your issue, and ask for a replacement monitor. Depending on where you are located however, support may vary for region. They will then overnight/2-Day (depending on time of day called) a replacement monitor to your house. The replacement monitor will come in a box with a return label where you can package up the defective monitor in the box and ship it back out to Dell.

You will have to contact them either by live chat or a phone call. Live chat can be found here: [View:channels.us.dell.com/.../cimlogin.aspx]

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it!
The monitor is an ultrasharp and isn't old at all. How would is go about going through this process? I've check all over the dell website and haven't seen anything like that.
Again, thank you.
