Dell XPS 8300 GPU upgrade (without changing PSU)
Hey guys,
This is my first time posting here. Anyway, I bought a Dell XPS 8300 and I love it. I've had it for about 2 years almost now. I got it because it just seemed like the right choice at the moment and I heard really good reviews about it. Well, as of right now, the GPU is not meeting my needs. I started playing Battlefield 3 and I get about 15 FPS (with lowest settings). I want something that can allow me to run it at high settings with much better FPS. Below are the cards that I would like to get, but dont know if they will work. If someone who has the 8300 can confirm these work, I would really appreciate it. Btw, I will not be getting another PSU. It is not in my budget to buy a new card and another PSU.
AMD Radeon 6950
GTX 560
AMD 7770
AMD 7850
AMD 6870
GTX 760
I know that these cards will run it a little dangerously close since they will be on a 460W, but I want to know which ones will work best. I really want the 6950, 760 and 7850. If anybody knows if these will work, I would really appreciate it.
Thank You.

I have a Dell XPS-8300 that came with an HD-6870, 460w p/s. It runs fine. You have to get a video card that can run Legacy bios and pull 150w or less. A06 is Legacy. MSI has video cards that have a bios switch. But they may require a p/s upgrade. Best upgrade for stock p/s would probably be MSI GTX 970, make sure that it has the bios switch and you should be good.

I can confirm that a Dell XPS 8300 (mine came with an HD-6870) with the Ao6 Bios and the stock 460w power supply will easily run this video card:
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB SC GAMING ACX 2.0
Probably the best upgrade available without upgrading the psu also.
