Dell XPS xp media centre recovery help

Hi

I have just purchased a Dell XPS 700 black.

The only problem is ,is that the person has put windows 7 on it and i wanted the original media centre on it. But the hard drive recovery has been wiped.

I do have 2 original dell recovery disks (not media centre editions though just servie pack 2 ones purple) and an original XP service pack 3 disk from Microsoft but it wont let me load them up.

It goes through the motions but when it gets to the loading the XP it blue screens , now i know the problem is due to it having SATA drives and usually you just change the ACHI in the bios and then it doesnt blue screen, but there is no optionin the bios to change this so how do i install?? Do i need a media centre dell disk?? I even downloaded and flashed the bios to 1.4.1 to see if an update but this was already running on the pc.

I put in a IDE drive and loads fine but it is only a 40 gig old one and i want the 500 gig sata thats in it.
Any ideas please would be grateful.

regards

Jason
