Dell vostro 260 desktop compatible with core i5 processor
Hello all
I have Dell vostro 260 desktop. It is compatible with core i5 2500k and 3570. Kindly reply us back.

I only see Vostro 260 Mini-Tower and 260S Slim Tower, no Desktop. So exactly which one do you have?
The manual says the MT supports a Core i5 processor, but only Dell will know exactly which Core i5 CPUs are supported.
If nothing else, make sure you have the latest version of BIOS running before you attempt to swap CPUs. Dell sometimes adds support for new CPUs in new versions of BIOS but they don't say which new CPUs are supported.
Keep in mind that updating BIOS always has a risk of killing the motherboard, so read/follow the instructions to update BIOS carefully, and you do it entirely at your own risk...
