It's a physics experiments that requires a suite of electronics running into six separate DAQ (data aquisition cards). It would be most useful if I could have all the data running into the same computer.
I'm actually on a Dell right now that has 5 PCI slots (it is an older model).
the same will go with dell's competition. the only way you'll get six pci slots, if you bought an aftermarket motherboard. In today's standard, a motherboard with six pci slots is outdated. So it may be difficult to find a new one.

Given that the video slot (AGP or PCI Express) shares with PCI Slot 1, the best you're going to do is five.

I don't know if this would work for your situation, but the XPS 400 Desktop has six slots; 3-PCI & 3-PCIe.
