Here is an update on the error messages I get:

On shutdown, I get the following error codes:

0D:016F:00005ED5
0E:018F:BFF79BDB
0E:018F:BFF8E64B

Also, the computer will freeze erratically and the following blue screen message is representative:

Explorer has caused a GPF in module KRNL386EXE at 0001:00003003

Disable, or remove, Attuned. It was a program initially designed to 'protect' a system from a variety of faults, problem is that it causes more faults than it has ever protected against. I think if you just disable or remove it the rest of your problems will go away......

I have just removed Attune and will see if that helps. The system was working quite well for awhile with it installed so it is somewhat of a mystery why it would suddenly begin to crash.
