Dimension 1100 Monitor Problem?

My 17" LCD Monitor does not switch off correctly (as contolled by XP power settings). After the prescribed time, the screensaver stops, the screen goes blank, then keeps changing colour for about 3 seconds on each of the following: White, Black, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Magenta, Turquoise, White,Black etc. Whilst doing this the power button on the monitor does not switch the monitor off.

I have only had the machine for about two weeks, and whilst I thought that it worked OK when I first received it, I could not really remember, so I have carried out a Dell Restore - back to Factory Settings - however the problem is still there.

I have now reset the power settings so that the monitor never switches off - the screensaver remains on at all times.

Any ideas?

Not sure what your problem is from your description. Easy solution is as follows, when you leave your PC just shut off the monitor with the power button and turn it back on when you are ready to use your PC again. I use this on my system as standby doesn't work and sometimes power settings are unreliable.
