Dimension 2350 Power Supply

Hello,

The power supply in my older 2350 is failing...can anyone recommend a responsible vendor that I can purchase a new unit from?  I am pretty good with tearing into a computer, so I am pretty confident I can replace the power supply as I have replaced hard/cd/floppy drives, memory chips, etc.

Any information greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I installed a Dynex 350w power supply in my 2350. Got it at Best-Buy and it has worked great with no problems. The model number is DX-PS350W in case you wanna get one.

I've done a little reading on the subject since my first post and it seems that the voltages have to be just exactly right coming off of the power supply as Dell has proprietary units inside their machines?  I guess I am concerned about getting one of these units and frying my system or otherwise damaging it some how.

Did you guys have any problems with the replacement units physically fitting into your machines as well?

Thanks again for your feedback.

The link I gave you is for your dell system, and was made for it, so I believe you will not have any problems. Many use that vendor and is very reliable

The D-2350 uses a standard generic ATX power supply and because the case has an open back, you can buy a power supply with or without the on/off switch.

Check out,

Thanks for your feedback.  I am taking my chances with another unit from an outfit called Power-on that too says it is made for the Dell unit I have.  I just couldn't spend $120 on the unit from PC Powercooling as the computer itself probably isn't worth much more than that.  As it is, I am getting a 250w unit for less than half of that cost as there is no high end peripherals that I need to be concerned about in the unit.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
