Dimension 3000 memory question

But when I enter the bios setup screen, and check the memory information, it showed that the memory speed is 333Mhz. Since the computer is directly shipped from the dell, I think the memory speed is supposed to be 400Mhz.

Is this normal or the bios is wrong? or something is wrong with my pc/memory?

Using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question.  Your 533mhz fsb system will always run the memory at 333mhz.

Dell should not give me the default option to buy pc3200 memory with this configuration.

Since it's all the same price, it really doesn't matter.
