Dimension 3100c - DVD Rewriter installation
I have a 3100c but only with a cd Rw. I want to install LG 22x DVD Rw but having taken the cover off I think I have to remove the CD RW to install the DVD Rw - as there doesn't appear to be space for them both. Does this seem right and where would | find instructions to make the swithc?

You can find the 3100c service manual HERE
Only one optical drive can be installed, as the 3100c has only one 5.25" bay.

Thanks Bev - really helpful. The LG DVD RW came with no cables so do I use the current IDE connector etc?

Yes, as you are replacing the exsisting optical drive, you should be able to use the IDE cable.
