Dimension 5150/DM051
What is the best processor for the Dimension 5150 with Bios A07?
I Have a 2.8 HT and want to do an upgrade I heard that is more compatible is the D945 this is true? Without giving this problem?

I have an E510, which is the US version of the 5150.
The D945 is the maximum that can be used in these models. However, if you do not have the 0HJ054 motherboard if you upgrade the CPU on most other motherboards you will get an "incompatible CPU" at boot up and must press F1 to continue. The CPU's are compatible, just that the BIOS detects them as incompatible. We have had a lot of posts, on the old forum about upgrading the CPU and the motherboard problems.
One comment, I upgraded mine from the original D805 to a D925 and to be truthful, I didn't see any difference in PC speed or operations. Fortunately, I do have the 0HJ054 motherboard.
Another issue, you must use the Dell heatsink/fan/shrowd assembly. The Dell motherboard will not accept a Retail heatsink/fan assembly without modification to the motherboard (if it can even be modified) and with a non-Dell fan you will get a "fan failure" at boot up.

A commentary, you upgraded from a D805 to D925 I want to upgrade from a P4 2.8 HT, it will make a difference?
If not the process that you indicate to be the best for this computer?

How can I find out what my motherboard is a 0HJ054? And if I can use the D945? A commentary, you upgraded from a D805 to D925 I want to upgrade from a P4 2.8 HT, it will make a difference? If not the process that you indicate to be the best for this computer? And Intel Desktop Bord DQ965CO is compatible ?
