Dimension E521 will not boot up

Hello All,

I have a 2 year old E521 desktop that only powers up the fan and then flashes the numbers 3 and 4 on the front panel. I have not installed or added anything and the computer is never bumped or jarred. I've tried unplugging it and replugging but it just doesn't do anything. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you very much.

According to the Dell manual  HERE  lights 3 and 4 indicate a potential memory problem.

First step would be to reseat the memory modules (with the PC powered off, unplug each memory module then plug back in).  If that doesn't help, try one memory module at a time in case one is defective.

WOW! That was it. I took out each module and re-installed one at a time. I added 2 GB's of ram last year but apparently the bad module was a Dell original. I'll just let it run with the 3 GB's of ram, only a 32 bit system anyway. I cannot thank you enough, fireberd. I'm a complete novice and all I saw was $$$$ when it wouldn't boot up. Thanks again.
