Disk Drive compartment

The disk drive compartment will not remain closed, even when I change a disk or try to close it manually. When I push it closed or even when I push the close button, it still comes out. Any suggestions? Please help. The computer is the Dimension E310, and just over one year old.

If the system is still under warranty, call Hardware Support for your system. Make sure you have your service tag available when you call. Without actually troubleshooting I can't be certain, but I think the drive may be broken.

Try this. With the system powered off, gently push the tray al the way back into the drive. Then power on the system then see if it works normally

if not, replace the drive
