Display Adapter Problems

All of a sudden we started receiving the following message and receiving lines through our monitor

"There is a problem with your display settings.  The adapter type is incorrect, for the current settings do not work with your hardware."

We haven't installed anything recently to start getting this error message.  It started up about 2-3 weeks ago and now the monitor goes blank when trying to start up the computer.  If we disconnect the connection from the CPU, we get the Dell message screen clear as a bell.  Does anyone know what might be causing this or what a easy resolution might be without having to replace the video card?  I appreciate any help or direction.  Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Download the driver through this link
http://www.nvidia.com/object/win9x_56.64

Then go to add/remove progs and remove the current Nvidia display driver, reboot when prompted, when windows has loaded, cancel the driver wizard and install the driver you downloaded...

See if that helps

Good luck

I failed to say when we started to have display problems, we uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the driver from that same link as well the d/l for the monitor.
