Do I have the right Video Card for LCD widescreen Monitor?

I replaced my 17" flat screen flat monitor with a 22 LCD Monitor widescreen.  I am not used to the change, and some Web sites do not take the entire screen.  I'm wondering if the video card on my system will support native wide screen resolution that this monitor supports.

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 purched in 2004

Also, failed to mention, that you might want to update the driver and make sure in Display Properties you have the correct relolutions set for that monitor and not one for the 17 inch which was 1280x1024.

Unknown which video card you have if any. Some of those 4600's come with the Integrated video chip, not a true dedicated video card, which limits you to what you can do on that 22 incher

Hi. I have a new Dell 20inch monitor 2009W which says it needs 1600 x 900 but my video card in laptop does not go up that high. I went to download drivers but mine is not listed.

will it hurt monitor to use it at a lower rez for web design and graphic design? maybe a bit of aftereffects?

or do you know how to find mac product downloads on dell's site?
