Does my GX620 A07 bios support 48 Bit LBA?

Can anyone verify if my GX620 A07 bios support 48 Bit LBA? I just bought a new 200 SATA Maxtor and partitioned 100gb for XP. I booted into Windows during install. Then I created another 100gb partition for fedora 6. After installing the OS I rebooted and received the following message Unmountable_boot_Volume. I sure the bios is having issues with a drive over 137gb. Unfortunitly my Windows XP is pre-SP1. Is there any fix for this? Thanks Cmotley

Do a search on these boards. Your OS is the problem, not the bios.

I think Maxtor has a little utility that can edit the registry to let the OS support larger drives, but I think it requires SP1 or later (not 100% sure though) as it needs an updated ATA/SATA driver. The Maxtor utility works for any drive brand (as it's a reg edit which therefor affects all drives).

Here is a Microsoft article about the problem and the fix.
