Does windows 10 cause blue screen crash?

I upgraded to Windows 10 recently from windows 8.1 on my Dell Inspirion 660 desktop which is 3 years old.  My hard drive crashed...I woke up to the blue screen of death after a couple of months.  The hard drive had to be replaced.  Did Windows 10 cause that?   I am debating upgrading again because I liked Windows 10 so much more than 8 but do not want to crash again.  Advice?

Hi savra,

Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.

Please run the diagnostic on the system. Power on the system, start tapping the F12 key> select Diagnostics and press enter and the follow the on-screen prompts to complete the test. Let us know if you get any error message. Also let us know the bluescreen error message.

Kindly get back if there are any further queries.
