Driver for Dell Wireless Mouse

My new Dimension 4600 came with the Dell Wireless Keyboard and Optical Mouse. The installed driver provides few features for the mouse wheel. The mouse appears to be by Logitech. Would it make sense for me to install the driver for the Logitech Cordless Mouse, which is available at Logitech's web site? Thanks.

I also have a Dell by Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse.  The keyboard uses Logitech's "iTouch" driver (v 1.82).  The mouse uses Logitech's MouseWare driver (v 9.42).  There are newer versions of both drivers at the Logitech website.  They do work with my keyboard and mouse.   The later versions of the Logitech drivers have new features but also remove some old features.  For example, the iTouch v 1.82 driver has the option for Caps Lock and Num Lock icons in the system tray (aka notification area).  Later versions of that driver don't have that feature.

Before upgrading to a later driver, I recommend that you make sure that you still have your old keyboard and mouse drivers available on a CD-ROM.   In that case, you can always revert back to the old drivers if you don't like something.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. In my case (wireless keyboard & mouse with a new Dimension 4600), the mouse driver is by Microsoft and it shows the mouse as "HID-compliant mouse". I think it is a generic mouse driver provided by WinXP. Also, Logitech is not mentioned on my keyboard or mouse, or on Dell's web site, however, the mouse looks exactly like a Logitech. I wonder if anyone knows whether a Logitech driver could be used with this mouse.
