Dual Monitor on Optiplex 990 SF
Hello all,
I need to use an extended display on an Optiplex 990 SF, so I installed an AMD Radeon HD6410 and connected one monitor via DVI and one via the integrated VGA. I enabled multiple monitors in the BIOS, I installed the drivers and Catalyst but I can't make it work. What happens is that I can use only one monitor at a time, if I boot with the DVI connection I can use the DVI, if I boot with the VGA, I can use that, but I can't use them together, they are not even detected.
Any ideas why this is happening?
BTW, I am running BIOS version A10.
Thanks a lot

Hi,
The OptiPlex 990 support either integrated graphics or add-in graphics card:
You have mentioned you have AMD Radeon HD 6410, please check AMD Support site for specifications and dual monitor configuration of this card.

Thanks for your answer, I am sorry I meant HD6450.
I have another Optiplex 990SF which uses both a Radeon HD6450 and the integrated Intel, and I can use the two monitors together. The problem is that it was not configured by me, and I can't figure out what the difference is.

I suggest the Sapphire 6450, which will support two, maybe three, monitors simultaneously.

Hi YIT,
Set up seems to be correct. Check this article from Microsoft on Dual Monitor Setup and see if this helps.
