E173FP LCD MONITOR

I got a virus and had to rebuild windows.  My E173FP LCD Monitor didn't have the driver and defaulted to a "Default Monitor"  I downloaded the driver and do I need to go to the Control Panel and select install hardware to reinstall the monitor?

If the driver you downloaded is an .exe file, then just double-click
on it and it will run and install the driver.

Yes..it is an .exe file.  Once I have installed this would I then go to the install hardware in the control panel?  Right now the system is showing that I have a default monitor.

Windows Update usually has downloads for monitors too. It's really just a small text file that details what the monitor can do.

i am currently having the same problem... but even worse..  I cant figure out what driver i need??
I have the E173FP monitor and a Dell Dimensions 3000.

I reinstalled windows, and for some reason ... NO DRIVERS installed with it.  My monitor cant be detected on the DEVISE MANAGER .... (so all my icons are bigger then the screen lol).  I have no sounds ...etc...
MY backup CD that came with the comp, supposedly has all this... but i guess it doesnt.  Even my Monitor CD says "DRIVERS" ...but when you open the CD, all it is, is a page about the monitor. (NO DRIVERS)

ANY HELP is appreciated.

Your problem isn't the monitor drivers-that's no big deal and you don't even really need it (it's just an inf file). The real problem is you don't seem to have any of your other drivers installed. You need to download the chipset drivers for your computer and install those first, THEN download and install your video drivers and sound drivers. Then you can worry about installing your monitor's inf file (which will probably show up on Windows update, and scrictly speaking isn't nessisary).

I have the same problem. I did a format and reload to speed up the PC and the driver won't load from my CD or the latest downloaded file. It says defuault monitor running at 60Hz. Can anyone tell me if and how they reloaded this driver and what is the highest refresh rate for the E173FP is?

60Hz is correct for basically any LCD monitor.

When you reinstall Windows, you first need to install your chipset drivers, then other drivers like your video drivers.
