Error 432: Uninstall Shield is in Use
I tried to download PowerPrep for the GRE test, and I got error 432 saying that the Uninstall Shield is in use and that I need to close it. How? Then, I got the CD for PowerPrep from a friend and I encountered the same problem. What should I do?

bryandow,
Boot the system to safe mode and see if you can install the program here. Does this problem happen with all software that you try to install or does it just happen with this program?

See if one of the InstallShield knowledge base articles below fixes the problem.

This error is due the rights assigned to the user who is performing the installation. The user either has limited rights or guest rights. To successfully install Notes on Windows XP the installation needs to be performed by a user/Administrator who has administrative rights to the computer. After the installation is complete the user with limited rights or guest rights may then successfully launch and use the software normally.
