Error code 40 for sb820m
Just recently clean installed windows 7 on my inspiron one 2305 -- have all the dell cd's, started wtih the main cd to install all drivers. When i got to the controller driver: amd sb820m it stopped at the very end to say it couldn't extract a file, error 40. Went to the dell driver website, downloaded the driver, ran as administrator, same thing! Help please!

Hello Dell-Ravi Ch,
That is the link I went to the dell driver website -- and it is the same file as well.
I did not follow the exact order as the link that you provided -- I only followed the order of the dell application CD that I have. So... do I have to reinstall windows again? Just to install everything in the order of the link?

Hi Swhakim,
I would advise you to do clean reinstall of the operating system and follow the correct order for installing the drivers on the computer.
