Expander boards for DDR2 memory slots?

I have an old Dell Dimension 8400.  The memory slots on the mother board are maxed out.  Do they make expander boards that will allow 2 or more DDR2 memory boards to be run off of one card slot?  A 2-1 or 4-1 type config?  If so, where can I find such a beast?

So my Dimension 8400 is physically limited by the chipset and processor to the 2 Gig of memory that is currently installed?

No, the Dimension 8400 supports up to 4gb of DDR2 [4 x 1gb modules] memory.

Note: 4gb of memory require a 64-bit operating system to be fully utilized.

No, nothing like that is available.

The ram limitation is based on the chipset and processor.

They don't make memory riser boards for the dimension 8400 like they do on the precision T5500.

An inexpensive upgrade system that goes to 8 gigs would be a precision 380.

If you need more than that I would look at a precision 490 which goes to 32 Gigs.
