Fan Question

A Dell Tech just replaced the Datech fan on my 8100 running ME with a NMB fan. On bootup, after the first black background splach screen where F-2(bios setup) can be accessed, I get the following message in the upper left of the screen "Alert!, system Fan not detected". the fan in running OK and quiet. How can I eliminate this alert or is there something else wrong?
Thanks for any help

I have a 8200...don't know if your mother board is the same...

I have two 3-pin connectors...one which is dedicated to the fan and another one...the fan must be connected to the one dedicated to it...that's how the bios senses that it is there to avoid that message...

if the fan is connected to the other one...it WILL work...but there is no fan "sensor" for that connector

Thanks for answering my post. My new fan only has one 3 pin connector and I think the Datech fan that was taken off only had one 3 pin connector. Baffles me as to what the problem may be.
