Fan Temp

I have a Dimensions 2400 running WinXP.  Is there any program that I can download that will allow me to watch my fan temp?
Thanks,
Matt

Sorry, not for Dells, they lock out the sensor in the bios.  :-(((

Further, no 'fan' reports its temperature.  In 2400s and comparable models, the fan itself senses the temp of outgoing air and speeds up accordingly.  Don't shove a 2400 up against the back of an enclosed space--the fan will roar.

In upscale models and all current Dell desktops, the CPU temp is read by a diode internal to the chip and controls fan speed by PWM through the subordinate parts of the chipset (ICH, SMH).  The reading is not accessible to software.

The best you can do is use SpeedFan (free). It can't control fan speeds on Dell desktops, but it will report hard drive temps in a small icon next to the clock.
