Faulty USB ports on my Inspiron 570...
So I've had my new dell for about 2 months, and now that I think about it, I've had issues with the USB ports since I got it. They work for about 5 mins then stop. I'll plug in my iPhone and sometimes it's just never recognized, sometimes it is. I just got a new belkin wireless adapter and router, and the network was fine for about an hour then stopped working. I'm not sure if this is Aussie where I gotta send the computer back, or have someone from dell come check it out... Or maybe a driver issue....any help would be greatly appreciated :-))

Welcome to the Dell community. Thank you for providing the detailed description about the issue you are facing on the system. I would recommend updating the drivers on your system.
• Chipset drivers from http://dell.to/NxKhSd
• BIOS from http://dell.to/LtSkB0
Download these files on your system and follow the onscreen instructions to install them. Restart the system.
Please revert with observations

You need to install downloads.dell.com/.../R243218.EXE
Systems Inspiron Desktop 570
Operating Systems
Windows 7 32-bit
Windows 7 64-bit
Windows Vista 32-bit
Windows Vista 64-bit
Install
1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R243218.exe.
2.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or
unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R243218. Write down this path so the executable (I.e.
Setup.exe) file can be found later.
3.The Self-Extractor window appears.
4.Click OK.
5.After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
window is still open, close it.
6.Click the Start button and then click Run.
7.Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R243218 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
8.Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

I too have an Inspiron 570, THIS DID NOT WORK.

If you have gone ahead and tried all the steps mentioned in this thread, I would request you to back up data and do a PC restore (back to factory settings) to rule out a possible software issue. Please reply with your findings. To do a PC restore follow this link

I will try this to solve several issues with a clean Windows 7 install:
1) I've tried two silent video cards that are getting very hot. The two cards are Asus Geforce 8600 GT as seen here http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/EN8600GT_SILENTHTDP512M and Geforce 7950GT as seen here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150189.
Using Speccy and GPU-Z I can see that the temperature regularly reaches 190 degrees F.
I'm replacing those with an XFX Radeon HD 7770 that has a fan as seen here: (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150666). I'm trying to see if it does not get as hot.
UPDATE: Solved the graphics card problem with the XFX Radeon HD 7770! Temperature stays at about 103 degrees F. Got a nice deal on it form ebay for $85, free shipping.
Here is my new Windows Experience Index rating:
2) The obvious USB issue that is not recognizing anything when I plug something into it.
3) My computer has an issue with not shutting down and simply restarting when trying to shut down.
I will let you know how it goes with a reinstall of Windows 7...

I've done a clean install of Windows 7, there is no change in the situation the the USB problem and the computer restarting.
I have tried with Windows 7 USB drivers, the Dell drivers, and updated AMD provided drivers.
There is no change with the USB issue, it simply will not accept four rear USB devices plugged in.
I must have one rear USB port unplugged in order to try to avoid USB problems.
UPDATE: I'm trying updated Ethernet drivers from here:

UPDATE:
COMPUTER HAS STOPPED COMPLETELY, NO VIDEO, BIOS HAS BEEN RESET, COMPONENTS TAKEN OUT,
WON'T RECOGNIZE ANY AMOUNT OF RAM!!!!
BUYING NEW ASUS MOTHERBOARD, DON'T SPEND ANY MORE OF YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!!!

Maybe you'll get people like me to buy your products in the future. I'm now considering the new Apple products in the future and they are far more reliable then what I've seen from you and the other PC manufacturers.
