Hi,

You can check the image below for detailed information about the ports and connectors on motherboard of your Studio XPS 8000. As shown in image the power button connector (FP1 - #14 in image) is on the bottom right side below the Sata connectors. (Click on image for enlarged view)

To know more about the connections and ATX chassis, you can refer to link mentioned in previous post.

Please reply in case you have further questions.

The studio 8000 pwer block is  along the bottom edge of the mboard nearest the back edge. It is inline with the usb connectors. The top row of pins is an odd number, the 2pin plug from the new case power switch slides onto the middle pin and the one directky below. I am at work at rhe moment but if you still need help, I,ll do you a diagram.

I've drawn a graphic but it will not upload to this site. In the digram in previous emails the  block for the power connector is #14, it has 5 pins on the top row and four on the bottom. Its is the middle of these 5 pins that should nbe connecte eiht the pluf to the npit directly nelow it.

Hi,

I was able to find some information related to this. If you check the motherboard of your computer, there are five pins on the top and four on bottom on power button connector (FP1) of your computer. The fourth and fifth pins from the top are for the HDD. One in the blue is HDD activity Indicator.
