Generic USB Driver and USB hub problem

I am trying to install a Logitech Wingman 4-Port USB Hub. When I plug it in, the Add New Hardware Wizard comes up to install an "Unknown Device." I could not find a driver for the hub. I called Logitech and they said that they do not supply a driver and that I should use the "Generic USB Driver" that is included with Win98. This driver is not listed on my computer. Where can I get it? I have a Dimension XPS R400 with the Win98 Upgrade.

Thank you,
Mike

When you are in the Wizard, have you tried checking the:

Display a list of all drivers ..etc
then check:

Show all hardware
The Generic USB Hub should be the very first one in the
left hand pane, select it and follow the direction. I believe the driver is here
windows\system32\drivers\usbhub.sys
windows\system\vmm32.vxd

I found two references on Win98 disk
drivers\input\logitech
drivers\storage\ftl\usbmtd.vxd
Just a thought.

I found a solution... After looking around on my system, I found the file usb.inf in \windows\inf\infback. I moved this file to \windows\inf and restarted. After this, the "Generic USB Driver" was available in the Hardware Wizard. Everything works great now.

Thanks,
Mike
