Graphics Card for Optiplex 3020 SFF

I want to add a graphics card to my Optiplex 3020. The "small form factor" means I need a half-height card. I was told by tech support that only two cards work: Radeon HD 8490 and HD 8570. The 8490 gets mediocre reviews, and today I was told the 8570 is no longer available (haven't been able to find it online anywhere). I reached sales support and was given other Radeon models that would work, but it turned out all of those are full-height adapters. Can anyone provide the models that will work in my computer? Thanks for any help.

all the HD 7000 and HD 8000 cards from AMD are discontinued and have been replaced by the R7 series card ... you need to find a low profile r7 240 that comes with low profile brackets ... he is the new equivalent of the 8570 ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150677&ignorebbr=1 it's also important that the graphics card fan does not stick out past the width of the silver part of the card as you have almost zero room between the expansion slot the card goes in and the computer's power supply.

Has the Radeon R7 240 card been confirmed to work in the SFF Optiplex 3020? It look like it will fit next to the power supply but I need confirmation that this card will work.

Thanks

No it wont work.

8570 TDP = 66W

8470 TDP=33W

8350 TDP=19W  much like the HD5450.

R7 240 TDP = 33W

R5 230 TDP = 19W

Hello,

I too have the same issue. Do all the above models fit in the 3020 as there isn't much room and also I cant find out what is the max wattage allowed for the cars to work in the 3020. Also, as the post is over a year old are there any newer cards available.

I want to connect the PC to my amp via HDMI card. Won't be gaming, just watching movies and streaming.

i am also looking for answers.  I would like our Optiplex 3020 to support 3 or 4 monitors.  Is there a low profile card that will support that in the 3020?  Such as an AMD Firepro W4100 or something like that?
