Graphics Card problem???

My comp (dell 2350) used to work fine playing games and everything was peachy....After installation of CoD United Offensive the game worked fine. After I got on again it comp worked ok then powered down for some reason. Started back up then form there all my games play slow as if they were on super high detail. It happens even with older games. I've tried disk defrag, system restore and i have plent of anti-virus protection and its not spyware. I've got Inter (R) Integrated Graphics Controller and comp is 1.7Ghz 256MB RAM.  ANY ideas helpful.

Even though your games have appeared to work before, the integrated video is way down the graphic's ladder.  You have an entry level system and need a pci video card to play games somewhat well.  And you only have 256 mb or ram.  Windows loves 512 mb to run well.  The integrated video is taking away at least 32 to 64 mb of that 256 mb, which leaves you with even less for the system and games  to work.  The 1.7 cpu does not help either.  When playing games off line ( Not on the Internet ), turn off your anti-virus software during game play and turn back on when finished.  The below links will take you to some spyware software sites, if you don't have them already.  Turn off the windows OS eye candy during game play as well, because this to will slow the system somewhat.  Turn off any wallpaper you may have on and Screen Savor.

Do a Disk CleanUp

Last resort, you may have to reformat and re-install windows from scratch to clear up that registry..Hope this helps

If all else fails...download all the drivers for everything on your computer...and reformat. Reformatting clears up ALL file related problems. If it does not work after reformatting and reinstalling everything...then its a hardware problem. Good luck.

Purchase a can of compressed air and clean out your computer case and the fans inside of it. I hope this helps.
