Halt on Error

I have a Dimension 2300. I also have the Bluetooth Optical Desktop by Microsoft. Now, I know on most newer motherboards, you can turn the halt on error to only keyboard, or to just don't halt when it doesn't find a keyboard. I have searched all over, but this option is not in the BIOS for the 2300. Does Dell have a workaround for this, or are they planning to release a BIOS setting for this? It is a real pain to plug in a keyboard everytime I want to restart.

On a side note: I need to call in for a replacement, the CPU fan is starting to go, and right now its making tons of noise.....

Thanks!

You may want to cover all the angles and post your question in the Dimension - Keyboard/Mouse forum if you haven't done so already.  That forum probably has a different variety of visitors and would increase your chances in receiving a useful reply.

Eh, I just thought that since this is a BIOS problem that I should post here first. Although I will try posting in the Keyboard/Mouse Section.

Basically it is a BIOS problem, but unfortunately there are no settings in the BIOS to correct it.  As for a newer BIOS upgrade, it has been 2 years now since Dell last released a BIOS update for your model.  The odds are slim that they will ever release a newer one.  The only alternative is finding a way to work around the problem and the Dimension - Keyboard/Mouse forum would be the best venue for that.  Not to mention that forum has considerable more visitors than the BIOS forum so your chances are greater at the right people seeing your problem.

You've probably gotten over this by now, but here's an option for others who encounter this and would like a workaround...
