Help with PSU i just purchased.
Hi,
I'm new here and recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 620 two months ago. The specs are:
Core i5 2310M
8GB Ram
1TB HDD
Intel HD2000 integrated Graphics.
Also its the normal tower inspiron and not the slim/small case.
I'm in the search for a new graphics card because I'm going to start using my PC to play Diablo 3 whenever it comes out. I'm a noob so i did not know that decent graphics cards would require a PSU that would be able to handle it. The stock PSU inside of my dell is 300w. I recently purchased this PSU and would like to know is it compatible with my Dell Inspiron? Also, would this PSU be necessary if i were to have a Radeon HD 6670/6770 graphics card installed? A low power system like the one described will be fine with a good quality 430 watt psu like the Corsair. You're only looking at around a 210-220 watt AC load when running Furmark with those specs and a 6770 , normal loads ( gaming ) will be lower, as will the DC load on the psu ( you won't be using half of it's label capacity ).

The Corsair will fit the case and its connectors are compatible.

The Corsair is a good idea for a 6770, although I'm not sure if it's necessary. If it has a PCIe connector, then it should be adequate for a 6770.
For $15 you can't lose.

I picked the PSU up because it was a pretty good deal on newegg, assuming i get my rebates the PSU would come out to about $15.00 : www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx
And it has a higher maximum wattage then the stock 300w PSU i currently have. I have my PC for just casual use, like surfing web and playing video games when i need to. I was really concerned that the 300w PSU wouldn't handle the 6670/6770 GPUs, so i just pulled the trigger on getting this 430w PSU. Would this PSU fit and connect with my motherboard and dell casing? I didn't want to spend a lot on a PSU because i didn't want it to be overkill for my PC.

its a little small. you should go with at least a 600w a 650 watt will be better. While Corsair is a good brand i would not throw a $40 supply in my system.
THIS would be a better supply to put into your rig

Thanks for the help guys, i never installed a PSU before, and when i purchased the PSU i didn't think about if it would be compatible with my PC.

Thanks for the link maybe i was inputting some things wrong, but it came out to close numbers of wattage like you stated. Now I'm not sure if i return my 430 PSU that will be delivered on monday, or should i keep it and install the PSU into my Dell. THe PSU after rebates would cost me $15 to keep. What would you guys suggest if you were in my situation? Install the 430 Watt PSU, and keep the 300w as a spare, or Return the 430 Watt PSU, and stick with stock 300 watt PSU. I'm not going to upgrade my PC any further, other then the 6770 Video card.

Sorry to rain on your party. Did you read the feedback on this PSU at Newegg. You should return it. I am a Corsair fan, with 2 TX650's and the Corsair 400W PSU model that was produced before the model you have choosen. The new model came into place a year ago and is nothing but problems to their owners. Seems Corsair cut this model a little short on quality. DOA is very common as well as fan noise. Failure is short of the warranty period.
